Thank you for your comments! We discussed refining access so that we also think critically about systems of care.
ReplyDeleteMaybe like the driving records but more like an anonymous data bank that Dr's can enter their patients test results and get feedback from around the world, or perhaps the just our country to start.
ReplyDeleteTechnology: includng Research, Access to information and Access for underserved populations.
ReplyDeleteMoney and fiscal responsibility: including quality; affordability; health, wellness, and prevention; incentives. (proof of money well-spent)
Include a "path to wellness" for every patient, as part of every plan.
I want all my dr's to have access to all my records. As it is, I have to get the copies and then fax them to each doctor.
ReplyDeleteAnother issue that has to be a part of the discuss on system of care is Dr's that are undersstaffed and overwhelmed. My Dr. complains that she would make more per hour if she cut hair. Thus, no one is getting fair treatment and she is one of the best Dr's I've had. Does this bring us back to technology??
Look at the Personal Genome Project, people need to be aware first that having access to all this information is better than the fear that someone will hack into your whole life story.
ReplyDeleteEducation on the subject of genetic testing and what it will an will not do is extremely important.
